about the wedding...
yeah. so. I'm planning a wedding, working a full time job, and plugging away on 4 freelance thingies. that, plus a teensy bit of a social life (read: bonding with the sweetie) is keeping me pretty durned busy.
Fiancée is planning just as hard as I am for this wedding thing, while working HIS fulltime job and freelance thingies, too.
For those of you who keep asking us: "How is the wedding planning coming along?", here's our checklist:
Fall in love, talk about all that for-the-rest-of-our-lives-stuff and get engaged-check!
Tell our family and friends-check!
Re-size the heirloom engagement ring-check!
Set the date-check!
Reserve the wedding and reception locations-check!
Send out save-the-date cards from our location-reservation-expedition in Vegas-check!
Endure mockery from friends who wondered why we want them to come with us when we elope in Vegas-check!
Plan and make wedding/honeymoon travel reservations-check!
Find and order the dress-check!
Choose a caterer-check!
Choose a cakery-check!
Order invitations-check!
left to do:
Send out invitations
Order flowers for reception
Pack and move households one month before wedding.
yep. that's it. this whole wedding planning thing is totally easy!
ok, maybe the first thing on the list took a while, but it was the best part. at least, it was until the rest of our lives get going - then *that* will be the best part. at least, that's what I'm expecting....
...and maybe that last thing on the list will suck rocks. but only for a little while, until we pass out from the exertion of moving things, right? RIGHT?

I dunno if you've found it already, but the boards at IndieBride (www.indiebride.com) have been the best resources for you - help you focus on the things you think matter and not the things the wedding industry tries to force on you. Good luck!
