The Betrothed and I had 4 parties to attend this weekend - happily tucking into turkey and all the boozy side dishes....

at one of our parties, our hostess set up her entire house to take photos for christmas cards - helping us all to plan ahead for something we likely won't do - but damn, all her vintage costumes were awesome. seriously.

yeah, the family get-togethers were cool, but not as cool as watching the boys fight over who got to hold the creepy baby jesus....

and, also? Check out Brandon's article on The House on The Rock. because, well, I always said the place defied description - he proved me wrong!

On the Train..

so, I'm on the train this morning, reading tiny ladies in shiny pants and enjoying myself immensely, when I am distracted by a weird movement over by the train doors.

for a second I think it's a bird or something - just a weird flapping around the ankles of the chick standing there...

and I realize she's wearing chaps. under her long winter coat.

yes, that's right, CHAPS. made out of a bunch of men's ties. over her raggedy-ass jeans. I seriously put down my book and stared the whole way from Fullerton to Quincy, because, well, dude. I had to figure this out.

chaps. out of ties. on a girl. in the city.

Fascinating.

makes me wish I hadn't let my brother borrow my camera for the week, because, dude. CHAPS.
