the simple life.

Gentlemanfriend made me a grilled cheese sandwich last night.
Oh my god that man knows his way around a buttery pan.
Such a culinary treat, bread and cheese and butter in his capable hands.

And I wasn't even high or anything - this sandwich was just amazing, y'all.

He makes me wonder what my favorite childhood treat - grilled peanut butter and chocolate chips on rye - will be like when HE makes it....

You had me until "rye." PB and CC just don't belong on rye.

I have to agree with Blondie on this one. Rye should not be anywhere near PB and CC.

But then again, I like grilled PB and American cheese on wheat so... and let's not forget Elvis's favorite: Grilled PB and banana sandwiches.

Can anybody else come with something not exactly on the menu?

Whoa...rye.

I'm trying to think of something equally transgressive that I eat, but I think I'm pretty conventional.

I was unusual as a child, though, as broccoli was one of my very favorite foods.

Depends on what kind of rye we are talking about. If it has caraway seeds, I don't consider it to be food. Otherwise, open season.

At work I often order pb and american cheese on white bread, to go with a cup of chili.

But as far as weird sammiches? The weirdest I got is a BKJ...bacon, ketchup and jelly sandwich. Also works substituting a pork chop for the bacon.

That's truly horrifying, Marty. But then, I like PB and Doritos, so who am I to say?

Original, not Cool Ranch.

myself, i think the pb/cc on rye sounds fantastic, but i happen to have a thing for bagels with butter and baked beans on them. with ketchup. and mustard. yes i know.

when i was a kid it was peanut butter and bacon. my husband likes peanut butter and mayonnaise, but honestly... rye? try brioche. seems a little less out-of-desperation.
