what's bugging me this morning:
listening to NPR this morning, and there's a reviewer (I didn't catch his name) talking right now, and he is driving me crazy - the world's WORST lisp and he's ON THE RADIO.
Seriously. I have a lisp but I compensate by NOT being a radio personality.
{still listening, of course, and going nuts} this guy's voice is almost as bad as Carl Castle's weird bubble-in-the-throat thing that drives me so batty I actually take off my headphones while he's on the air.

If you're listening to NPR and have been a listener for awhile, you can't just NOW be getting upset at the lousy voices on the air! NPR attracts people who don't have the voices for radio, Harry Shearer & Michael Feldman excluded.
The guy who does the Chicago blues show on Saturday nights sounds like he'd be better suited for hosting a polka show.
The best voice on This American Life is usually Davis Sedaris and that's kinda sad.
The Annoying Music Show's host generally sounds more annoying than the music he plays.
NPR is only radio because it has enough cash for the crystal set and an antenna. It is not radio in the traditional sense of velvet-toned jocks spinning tunes and giving time & temp on a regular basis.
But I do enjoy listening. Maybe it is FOR the awfully flawed sounds from the personalities. You've got a shot with your lisp. Why the hell not?

I have always hated Carl Kassel's voice. If I got on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" I would deliberately throw the game just so I wouldn't win getting Carl Kassel recording my answering machine message! Dude mumbles so much he should be a Dick Tracy villain.

you see, I hate him so much I don't even spell his name right.
and: I love WWDTM because of that weird "laugh at everything everyone says" rule they must have. I mean, seriously.

Forgot to mention...Blondie and I know one of the producers of Whadya Know?, and we've been told we can get tickets anytime we want them. So Blondie can hook you up.
