vertigo

so, I had most of last week off of work, due to an unexplained yet doctor-diagnosed case of vertigo.

I spent the week oversleeping, taking motion-sickness meds, and trying not to feel drunk. (which my not sound so bad, unless you're the glass of water....{apologies to douglas adams})

Props to the fella who kept me from sitting at home, alone, feeling sorry for myself - I owe ya one.

I'll be tipsy and easily-tipped, for the next few months, apparently, as my inner ear slowly gets back to normal.

ah well. at least the prone position makes it easier to play with the puppy on his own terms...

architecture geek squad, again....

yeah, I am geeking out this morning - Eight Forty-Eight is concentrating on architecture....can't wait to hear more about the musical reactions to Richard Nickel, my favorite significant architectural preservationist...

yay for the live audio feed from WBEZ!

and, yeah, I know. not all that normal to have a favorite architectural preservationist. but I know so many, I gotta choose one, no?

creative comment spam

comment spam from this week has been particularly amusing. here's the best of the best:

Men have never been good, they are not good, they never will be good.

There can be genuine consensual relationships involving abuse.

It is both necessary to say and think that being is: for to be is possible, and nothingness is not possible.

The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative on the day after the revolution.

Many people would sooner die than think. In fact they do.

The universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose.

it's like being spammed by a high school philosophy class.

linkity linkity.

added two more blogs to my daily reading list, as I can't seem to get enough of other people's drama....

House of Wigs and OnMyWayInToWork

As for my own blog, well, since last I wrote, there's been: resolution of one issue, enormous buildup of numerous other tiny issues, and big ol makeout session.

making out made all the other stuff seem, well, boring in comparision.

but, sadly, the snog fest was more interesting to participate in than it would be to write about - not a good sign for longevity but a great nudge to the effect of "chill the fuck out and experience life, heather."

yeah.
