can't....stop....giggling....

okay, I'm totally acting inappropriately, now.

There may be a huge jar of cremains on our dining room table but for some reason, the gravitas of the situation can't prevent me from getting the giggles here, at picturepicture.net.

you know, like when you're in a quiet moment in a play and you can't stop coughing? If you don't know what I mean, well, then I can't explain it to ya - sorry...

thanks to the morning news today:

(note the use of the phrase "violation of sepulchre")

Is it a fancy jar? Mary's ashes came back in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box. Transferring them to the urn invariably involved doing it outside on a windy day. And when it was time to spread them a year and half later, the humidity had caked her in there pretty good. And have I ever told you my friend's "Don't track your father inside the house!" story?

I like "cremains".

the jar looks like a slightly more casual version of this pattern.

when the fella from Elegy Cremation came to the house for the initial consult, I think he noted my mothers' porcelain collection when choosing the jar for final delivery. I haven't yet looked inside to see the contents, but I'm pretty sure they're sealed up purty good.

I think my favorite part about this story is that they just threw the damned thing away...
