there simply must be a catch.

this seems too good to be true.

The selection is limited, but I'm thinking, if I'm stuck with my bad library for much longer, booksfree.com may be a life saver.

or, at least, a train-ride-entertainer.

but not like the ones we have now on the blue line - that creepy guy in the silver paint was on yesterday...just staring...blaring Michael Jackson....(shiver).

Dunno about that one, but http://www.booklend.net/ is great.

Well, the catch is it isn't free. There's a monthly membership fee -- at least for the books-on-CD service. $24.95/month. Ouch.

not so much of a catch if you consider the $5-10 a month I usually end up spending in overdue fees at the library.

although I think I'll stick to the bad library after all - 40 books a month for $10 ain't bad.

and the selection, while limited, isn't quite so heavy on the Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele.
