because I haven't posted a quiz result in a year or something like that...

I'm apparently Love in the Time of Cholera.
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Like Odysseus in a work of Homer, you demonstrate undying loyalty by sleeping with as many people as you possibly can. But in your heart you never give consent! This creates a strange quandary of what love really means to you. On the one hand, you've loved the same person your whole life, but on the other, your actions barely speak to this fact. Whatever you do, stick to bottled water. The other stuff could get you killed.
scarily, this is all true.
except for the cholera, of course.

Still very disturbing that I see this referred to as a classic romance novel. This is suddenly ideal? Read the book twice, and neither time honestly felt myself hoping the main characters would end up together. Though of course I still want myself to win out...

Oh this is too wierd!
I just got through watching the movie Serendipity 30 minutes ago (with John Cusak and Kate Beckinsale, great show even if it was a total and complete, chickflick, love-story, but I digress). Anyway, this book played a HUGE part in the movie. I've never seen it before tonight now twice within an hour. How wild is that?
Ok maybe you're not quite as moved as I am.

you know, I've never once picked this book up - read a few chapters of his biography, but still resist the call of the Marquez.
perhaps I'll check it out on my next library outing....
