The Guru. Honestly.

Went to see The Guru last night, therefore officially ending my love affair with the romantic comedy. the affair was going on too long, as it is - I can't remember the last ro-com that I enjoyed. seriously. I mean, I wasn't expecting brilliance, really, but when you see a movie that's supposedly 'spoofing' indian musicals and only has, like, 3 musical numbers, you're allowed to be profoundly disappointed.

over coffee after the movie, we were trying to think of good romantic movies - The Princess Bride, Say Anything, When Harry Met Sally came to mind, dating us thoroughly. Failing to add to this list (bad movies came up, like Jerry Macguire, I Love Trouble, French Kiss...), we moved on to 'good' lines from bad movies, my favorite being from Addicted to Love: " The only way she's coming back to you is if a blast of semen propels her out the window and across the street. "
