In which people give me things.

Okay, I can't believe this. After hearing about my computer predicament, one of my dad's cronies pulled together a new desktop machine for me. not only will it work wonderfully for what I need my computer to do, it's also way better than my current machine, in all sorts of boring ways that includes a CD burner. so I can finally back everything up to a read-only. and not a dime spent!

and here I was thinking I was stuck re-booting every 45 minutes, until I got a job and paid off enough debt to be able to afford a computer....gosh. this rocks.

Seriously. i'm overjoyed. granted, I have to do the whole re-install and re-establish and re-set up, but I'm very used to that, now. fourth time's a charm, isn't it?
