30 minutes of Propane Torching

Happy Birthday, John. Hope it's lovely.

I know, I said I was going to update y'all on the drum/dance weekend. Highlights include: Dancing for 15 minutes before collapsing into a sweaty heap, drumming with the magnificent Michael Markus, giggling while Taylor played "Choosy Mama" on two jembes slung around his neck, and singing the whole damned way to Indiana and back.

no good stories, at least, well...

we went to a bonfire the first night, got to the site just as they were setting up. the pile o' combustibles was SO big, it took them 30 minutes of steady propane torching to set it ablaze. we couldn't even see the flames for the first 20 minutes. it was incredible and dangerous and ... er ... stinky.

another thing about last weekend - it's damned hard to sleep in the wilderness. I need more . . . noise.
