Of Street fairs and room painting
housing update:okay, the room turned out really girly. I was hoping for a light sage-ish green but it turned out more pistachio. ah well, my sister and I had fun painting it, and the room looks a zillion times better than it did when we walked into it. just have to caulk between baseboards and walls, install my ceiling fan, and figure out how the hell to arrange a 32x36 closet to hold stuff in a useable fashion. That, and figure out how to install the satellite dish...
I'm utterly failing to be distracted from thinking about packing, as I should be getting all my crap into boxes for the upcoming move (if I can get a truck, the official move-date is July 26-27).
if only I can actually get up the motivation to start packing...now that I've been thinking about it for weeks and weeks...
holiday weekend update: Went to the street fair at Belmont and Lincoln yesterday - it was so lovely outside, wasn't it, folks? Met up with Eric and Erica and their friends to see Underwater People and some other street bands. it was fun, and it was great to get out and meet new people and get in some good people watching.
there was this couple that I couldn't stop staring at: HUGE guy, 6'2" and bestomached like a rhinocerous, with a girlfriend hanging on him that must have been 4'8", tops, with tiny little arms and legs... I never believed that opposites attract, but now I've seen it with my own eyes.
reading update: Fingersmith: buy it. read it. love it. New book in my hands, an old Jeffrey Deaver, featuring Lincoln Rhymes and his lovely assistant Amelia. you may remember Lincoln from such films as "The Bone Collector" starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. . .
