Fingersmith
housing update: painting the new room this weekend. light grey-green with white trim, hopefully will get enough primer/paint to cover up the mauve/blue/darkblue that's in there right now. I'm sure it'll look all girly and bright.
it's SO tiny, this room. 100 inches by 146 inches. moving from a two bedroom apt into this is going to be hard. if only I could find third floor, in-unit laundry, hardwood floors, near a train, in a safe neighborhood for less than $600....sigh
drumming update: second class went pretty well, I'm not sure I'm making any noise at all, actually (the room echoes such that I can just pretend that I'm contributing positively to the sound). Everyone seems to be getting it, slowly...Taylor's enthusiasm is infectious.
reading update: right smack in the middle of Fingersmith, by Sarah Waters. Loved her first book, was kinda bored by her second, but so far, this third is my favorite. I'd go into the plot, but it's best if you read it without an intro. Suffice it to say it's about two women in/near Victorian London, one a thief, the other, er...not. I love that word, '"Fingersmith" - makes theivery into a proper profession, it does.
